Maple orange bundt cake
Maple orange Bundt cake with maple orange glaze.
I often make Bundt cakes when we have family or friends staying with us. It’s a good one to leave on the counter and let guests enjoy at their leisure. No guests here now but I was in the mood for something delicious on the countertop.
Here is how:
4 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup sour cream
2/3 cup maple syrup
2.5 cups (400gr) flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup orange juice
Mix the eggs with a mixer until frothy, add the sugar and mix until light and double in volume.
Add the oil and sour cream and blend them in.
Add the maple syrup and blend briefly.
Add the flour in a few small additions, not over blending.
Add the orange juice and stir it in. Batter will be liquidy.
Pour into a buttered and floured bundt pant, set on a baking sheet in a preheated 350F oven and bake until done.
Let cool before removing from the mould. Pour glaze over and brush the glaze around the sides.
Maple glaze:
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/2 stick butter
1/3 cup orange juice
Combine in a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until syrupy.
Glaze cake with the warm glaze
