Fresh berries with Okanagan dessert wine

June 3, 2016 Published by Dina

Not every dessert has to be complicated. Sometime what is best after a meal is a bowl of beautiful fresh berries drizzled with luscious local dessert wine. If you want to indulge, whip up some cream to go with it. If you want to make it vegan make a cashew cream with this recipe.

Serves 4

Ingredients:

1 container Strawberries

1 container Blueberries

1 container Raspberries

1 container Blackberries

Okanagan dessert wine of your choice

Whipping cream or cashew cream

Directions:

Slice the strawberries and mix with the other berries.

Sprinkle a tablespoon of sugar over and mix it in gently.

Pour over just enough of the wine to coat the berries without drenching them.

Leave in the fridge for 30 minutes or so allowing the flavours to combine.

Serve as is or with whipped cream sweetened with a little sugar or with this cashew cream for a plant based vegan version.
